2009 TETNA Trick-or-Treating Nighttime Event

TETNAHalloween_logoSaturday, October 31
6:30PM – 8:30PM (rain or shine)

TETNA’s annual nighttime trick-or-treat escapades — different than the city of Wauwatosa’s daytime event — offers a safe and fun Halloween alternative for neighborhood children ages 14 and under. You must pre-register to participate in the TETNA Trick-or-Treat and all children must be accompanied by an adult while trick-or-treating. For more information on registration and to download the registration form, click here.

Why Register?

Since 1999, TETNA has charged $2 per child to participate in our Halloween event. This small fee covers the cost of organizing a nighttime event. Without this effort, a nighttime event would not occur. Along with the candy provided by residents, extra candy is purchased to help out the more popular blocks. To designate registered children, glow stick necklaces are provided for fun and safety. Other costs are for miscellaneous purchases like office supplies, printing, signage, etc. If you haven’t before, please consider registering your children this year.

No Tricks—Only Treats

  • Donate candy you and your family would enjoy.
  • This is a family event, so please behave accordingly.
  • Respect for neighbors and their property is a key aspect of the quality of life in East Towne.
Please don’t leave candy wrappers (or anything else)
on neighbor’s lawns.

TosaCares Donations

As our tradition during registration, TETNA collects donations for TOSA Cares. Last year our residents provided a carload stuffed full of donations. If you are not registering but still want to donate, just drop by during registration times with your items. Canned goods, dry foods, items for cold weather or personal care are greatly appreciated!

Crossing Guards

If your home is not in the designated area, but you would like to distribute candy, please consider volunteering as a crossing guard at an intersection. Get into the spirit and wear a costume if you like! Adults and teens can help… this is a fun service project for scout troops, church groups, etc.

Volunteers

Be involved in Tosa East Towne’s most exciting event of the year. Volunteers are needed during registration and distribution of candy to homes. This requires only one to two hours of your time to make a big difference in the success of this night.
Contact Wendy Swenson at 453-0624 or email Wendy and Jenny Farr at 302-4653 or email Jenny to volunteer or get more information.

Halloween Yard of Distinction

The TETNA Board will be awarding Halloween Yards of Distinction to a selection of houses again this year. While trick-or-treating, look for signs posted on the best decorated homes in the neighborhood.

Donation Needed: Photocopies for Halloween

If you have access to a photocopier and are willing to produce our Halloween door signs, please contact Jenny Farr or Wendy Swenson. Signs are letter-size and two-sided. We need 140 copies. Orange paper is provided.
