Try to follow up with the attached images while reading this tutorial .

Step#1 :
-Open a new document for example 300 * 200 or the size you will give you the freedom with the text you want to add .
-Make sure that your new document mode in on RGB mode , you will find your new document mode in the view menu > mode then chose RGB mode .
-It will be easy for you to start with little gray background .

Step#2 :
-Add your text , Chose the Text Tool and start adding your word ( I added a PHOTOSHOP word in my case to show you )
-Try to shoes a thick , big and bold Text , this way the text will be have a large area to add the effect and it will look nicer , when you chose a thin text you will have to be more careful with adding this effect so I advice you to try this tip in a thick bold text then you may try it on a thin one .
-Chose a Dark Gray color .
-You can chose : Impact Font . 48 pt or more .

Follow up with the attached image for this step .

Step#3 :
-Select The text Layer , and Add a Layer mask To it by clicking the circle within a square icon at the bottom of the Layers Palette .
-Why adding a Mask to your text ? What the mask do ? well your mask will give you the freedom to edit on your text without actual changes to the text layer , Adding a mask to a layer is equal to adding a multiply or screen mode layer to your text .

Follow up with the attached image for this step .

Step#4 :
-Chose the Brush Tool , Go to the options Bar and click on the Brushes List .
-Keep dragging until you find Chalk Brush type , you may try any type of brunches as you like .
-I prefer to work with Chalk sizes 36 , 44 or 60 .

Follow up with the attached image for this step .

Step#5 :
-Pres D , Or change your foreground color to black .
-Now you will select the text layer with the mask and start hiding some text with the brush you chose .
-If you saw that you hide your text more than you want you can press X then start hide some selections you makes .
-A good tip for this effect is to play with many brushes as you can , It makes it more realistic .

Follow up with the attached image for this step .

Step#6 :
-You are now done , Just add your final touches and your effect is now ready .

Hope you find it cool . until next time .

PHP on IIS

Windows Server TechDay 2007-03-13 Barcelona by Ivo Sandoval

The most common configuration of PHP is in an Linux and MySQL environment. Not many people realize that PHP can run on IIS. If you are going to administer your own server you may want to considered running an IIS server. In my personal experience working with PHP Tutorial, most people will run on apache. Getting IIS to work with PHP can be challenging, while I feel that Apache is pretty straight forward. I guess it depends on your skill level and how familiar you are with IIS/Windows or Apache/Linux.

How to Parse a CSV File Using PHP

Filed under: tutorial

Here is a pretty good tutorial onb parsing CSV files:

“In this tutorial you will learn a simple way to parse CSV files using PHP and output the text of the fields you need. This tutorial is not going to go into what you can do with the data once you get it from the CSV as the possibilities are endless. We will simply show you how to get the data into an array in PHP. First you can download our test.csv file here.

Now we are going to open the file for reading using the fopen() function in PHP. Will will specify the location of the file and also the mode in which we want to open it. In this case we are using the “R” mode which stands for read. Other possible uses of this function can be found on the manual page for fopen().”

Opening Files Using PHP

Filed under: php code

Today I am going to discuss opening files using PHP. PHP has some very easy to use file functions built in, the first of which is fopen(). Using fopen is easy. Fopen will create a resource for PHP to use. So you will want to set a variable equal to the fopen statement. That will serve as the resource to be used within other file functions.

fopen('yourfile.txt','w+');

First you define to the location of the file you would like to open, then you specify the method.

The possible methods are:

'r' Open for reading only; place the file pointer at the beginning of the file.

'r+' Open for reading and writing; place the file pointer at the beginning of the file.

'w' Open for writing only; place the file pointer at the beginning of the file and truncate the file to zero length. If the file does not exist, attempt to create it.

'w+' Open for reading and writing; place the file pointer at the beginning of the file and truncate the file to zero length. If the file does not exist, attempt to create it.

'a' Open for writing only; place the file pointer at the end of the file. If the file does not exist, attempt to create it.

'a+' Open for reading and writing; place the file pointer at the end of the file. If the file does not exist, attempt to create it.

'x' Create and open for writing only; place the file pointer at the beginning of the file. If the file already exists, the fopen() call will fail by returning FALSE and generating an error of level E_WARNING. If the file does not exist, attempt to create it. This is equivalent to specifying O_EXCL|O_CREAT flags for the underlying open(2) system call.

PHP Echo Contruct

Filed under: php

Code PHP by statescua

Since this is one of my first posts on this website I have to go with the good old “Hello World!” post. I plan to post some of my PHP knowledge on this web page and hopefully help out some newbies.

One of the primary things all programmers need to learn is how to display data to the window. In PHP the most simple way to do this is by using the echo function. To be correct, echo is not really a function, it is a language construct included in PHP. Echo can be called like any other function. For example if you wanted to display the words “hello world” to the browser your php syntax might look like this:

<?php echo(“hello wolrd”);?>

Since echo is a language construct it doesn't reguire the () that functions do. So this would also work:

<?php echo “hello world”;?>

That's it for the echo construct. I will be talking more about PHP in a later post. If you would like to learn more today take a look at PHP SQL. It's one of my favorite sites and I bet you will find it very helpful.
